We’re honored to share the results of our Catholic Citizenship Essay Contest.
The contest is designed to encourage young people to reflect on their faith, think deeply about what it means to be Catholic in today’s world, and to live that faith through kindness, service, and leadership. It’s one of the ways we hope to help students see that their faith isn’t just something they learn about in school — it’s something they live every day.
This year’s essay topic invited students to look back at the long history of the papacy and to reflect on the leadership and faith of the popes who have guided the Church through the centuries.
After careful review we, announced this year’s council-level winners:
Third Place: Howard Williams
Second Place: Owen Domingo
First Place: Sophia Magnan
Congratulations to our winners — and to all the eighth-grade students who participated in this year’s contest. Your reflection and effort show the light of faith alive in your hearts.
